Location was ideal for our purposes. We stayed at the hotel so as to be guests at a local wedding (Hoche Zeit). One of the "managers" of the hotel spoke very good English and made us very welcome, and was very informative about Lindau. We saw him most about breakfast time. The breakfast itself was amazing (but see below). We were well provided for and with excellent service. It was a joy to experience the local market that presented itself on Saturday morning just below and adjacent to the hotel. The quality of produce is outstanding. We didnt experience dining in the hotel (this could have been our language barrier). It was only on the last day I read/learnt about the history of the hotel---fascinating!!
The shower enclosure was a little claustrophobic. It had no grab rails that would take significant loading. There was no-one to meet us on our initial arrival at the hotel. A friend (German) had to seek out the receptionist. Then there was a bit of language barrier (it seems very few English speaking persons visit Lindau). There was no tea /coffee facilities in either of the rooms we booked. We discovered this online that this is not normal procedure for Germany. So we took our own kettle & coffee tea & sugar. Sadly our ability to plug the kettle in resulted in 2 days search for the appropriate fixture. The beds in our rooms were a little uncomfortable/ no second pillow & mattress although thick enough was laid on a hard base. One more thing --fried or scrampled eggs could be possibly offered at breakfast.

The girl at the reception desk was very nice and helpful. Greeted us warmly when we arrived, mapped out things to see and do while in the city. The complementary breakfast was very good and the restaurant was excellent. Great stay.

The Stift is a very nice family run hotel in the centre of Lindau. The rooms were very clean and well appointed. The buffet breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. The hotel restaurant was excellent with many local specialities.
The hotel bar was down a flight of stairs from reception so would not be suitable for disabled guests.

It is a long list, but for starters it was extremely dirty and disgusting. The staff was very rude, assuming you could actually find someone to talk to. There were bugs everywhere... It was a horrible experience and I would recommend Booked.net not representing them.
